Installing a SIM Card in the BRINC Ball

Installing a SIM Card in the BRINC Ball

Overview
This guide outlines the steps and best practices for installing a SIM card into the BRINC Ball communication device.

SIM Card Requirements
  1. Type: Micro SIM card
  2. Functionality: Must support voice and text
  3. Note: No SIM tray is required.

Installation Instructions
  1. Prepare the SIM Card
  2. Use a Micro SIM (with the micro ring attached). Avoid Nano SIMs unless using a suitable adapter.
  3. Insert the SIM
  4. Face the BRINC Ball.
  5. Insert the SIM chip-side up.
  6. Gently slide it in until it is seated at the bottom.
    1. Important: Do not force the SIM. If needed, use the provided hex tool to gently press on the top of the SIM to ensure it's fully seated.
SIM Tray Note : There is no spring lock or tray system. The SIM should fit with a gentle push.

Adapter Recommendations
  1. Compatibility: Some nano-to-micro SIM adapters work, others do not.
  2. Avoid: Adapters with thick plastic “windows” — these may jam inside the slot and make removal difficult.
  3. Tip: Ensure the adapter fits tightly around the SIM and doesn’t add extra thickness.

Removal Tip
  1. Attach a small piece of thin, durable tape (e.g., Kapton tape) to the back of the SIM.
  2. Create a pull tab by folding the tail of the tape onto itself. This allows easier removal in the future.
  3. Do not use: Scotch tape — it tears too easily.
